Here’s to the girls
That didn’t grow up feeling beautiful
That felt overshadowed
Or less than suitable
Here’s to the girls
That struggled with self worth
That had body image issues
And cried themselves to sleep into tissues
Here’s to the girls
That pined for the popular dudes
That felt beauty would always elude them
And hated being nude no matter what happened
Here’s to the girls
That are like most everyone
That don’t realize this
And need to be loved the same not teetering on shame
Here’s to the girls
That are brilliant, articulate and funny
That are well read, nerdy, have poochy bellies
And their boobies jiggle when they jump in puddles in Wellies
Here’s to the girls
That aren’t waif thin or in or ‘built for sin’
That were forever envious of other girls
And yet have the same soft skin
Here’s to the girls
That may feel they need to compete
For imaginary goals of which magazines are replete
And have unfathomable charm are are soooo sweeet
Here’s to the girls
That are a different texture or color
That are unique, or different, or anything other
And need reminders they will be the actual majority forever
Here’s to the girls
That see clearly with their eyes closed
That feel best in comfy clothes
And need to believe and see past their own nose
Here’s to the girls
That that make life worth living
That are our mothers, daughters and siblings
And part of our everything’s
Here’s to the girls
That are everywhere
That blend in or even make you stare
And are the spice of life, variety and hair-flip devil-may-care
Here’s to the girls
That… well
That are well
And love us back as men that love them so well

Here’s to those girls
In every color and every race
In heart and in body,
May we carry this kind of grace.

I knew I could count on you Minette
And all my Kitten’s kittens
To have that kind of grace
